Pyrex has taught aviation security across the UK and internationally for well over a decade. Our courses are fully compliant and aligned with the CAA’s own Quality Assurance Framework, under constant review both internally and by our external quality assurance partners. Almost every course is classroom delivered, because an operative who has been questioned by a trainer in the room performs differently from one who has clicked through slides.

Computer-based training is cheaper and it scales, and we still do not use it. Personal interaction and mentoring outweigh an impersonal package — and the difference shows on the stand.
A trainer in the room can tell whether somebody has understood a module or merely finished it. That is the whole argument, and it is why we accept the cost and the scheduling difficulty of running everything live.
Before anything role-specific, all staff complete Department for Transport Level 1 training. These are its component parts.
The UK CAA General Security Operative course, module by module. Most providers summarise this in a sentence; there is a reason for that.
Two days, published to the half-hour. Delegates sit a theory exam on day two and a separate practical assessment.
Ground Security Supervisors carry the accountability for an aircraft check sheet. They are trained for it separately.
All staff and supervisors receive refresher training every twelve months, as required by the UK DfT. Ours comprises three things.
